Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man With Van Docklands
Man With Van Docklands is committed to conducting its business with integrity, fairness and respect for human rights. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to identify, prevent and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, and we are dedicated to playing our part in eradicating it.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man With Van Docklands operates in the transport and removals sector, providing moving and associated services to residential and commercial customers. Our operations rely on a combination of directly engaged personnel, agency workers, and a network of suppliers and subcontractors who may provide vehicles, equipment, fuel, storage facilities and ancillary services.
We acknowledge that certain parts of the logistics and transport industry, including the use of temporary labour and subcontracting, can present risks of labour exploitation if not properly managed. We therefore maintain a proactive and structured approach to managing and monitoring our supply chain.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, servitude, child labour and any form of exploitation. This applies to all individuals working directly for Man With Van Docklands and to all parties in our supply chain, regardless of their location or the nature of their relationship with us.
All employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to act ethically and in compliance with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. We will not knowingly do business with any organisation or individual involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, and we will take immediate action, including the termination of relationships, where credible concerns are identified.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management processes, we undertake proportionate due diligence to assess the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking.
This may include requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with relevant legislation and our ethical standards, assessing their labour practices and requesting details of their own modern slavery policies and procedures. Where appropriate, we may conduct audits or request evidence of third-party audits that review working conditions, recruitment practices and worker welfare.
Where risks are identified, we will work collaboratively with the supplier to develop corrective action plans and monitor progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to address concerns within a reasonable timeframe, we will consider suspending or ending the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Responsibilities
We strive to ensure that key personnel involved in procurement, operations and human resources understand the risks of modern slavery and are equipped to identify and address them. Training and awareness activities are provided where appropriate, focusing on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding reporting channels and applying our zero-tolerance policy in practice.
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management team, who are accountable for ensuring that this statement is implemented and that risk management measures remain effective and proportionate to our operations.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Man With Van Docklands encourages all employees, workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices. We support a speak-up culture where individuals can raise concerns in good faith without fear of retaliation or detrimental treatment.
Concerns can be reported through internal management channels or via established whistleblowing routes made available to workers and contractors. All reports will be treated seriously and handled sensitively. Where appropriate, investigations will be conducted and remedial steps taken, which may include notifying relevant authorities and cooperating fully with any official investigation.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that the risks of modern slavery may evolve over time as our business and supply chains develop. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures and due diligence processes to respond to emerging risks and good practice standards.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains aligned with our operational realities, legal obligations and ethical commitments. Updates will reflect lessons learned, audit outcomes, stakeholder feedback and any changes to relevant legislation or guidance.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man With Van Docklands and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
